This course introduces students to the history, philosophy, and essential concepts of the Individual Psychology of Alfred Adler. Students study Adler’s original works and modern interpretations, as well as uses of Adlerian ideas in the provision of mental health services and communal and family functioning. Special emphasis is placed on the application of Adlerian concepts in the practice of individual psychotherapy, family therapy, parent education, and teaching.
